“Collapsing”
Every building has one moment in time, its final gasp. The moment before it is destroyed beyond recognition
This is my series of work that speak to this moment, an understanding that this time is special and deserved to be recorded. It started with a schoolhouse. A childhood monument, that stood above a hill next to my grandmothers home. All it took was a gust of wind. The building Collapsed.
Yet it still remained, teetering on the edge of total destruction. I had to record it, a moment so specific and poignant. It was my childhood fading away. Histories of so many people who had seen, walked, and made this building. I knew this was something I had to paint, draw, and replicate
